The Ivorian Society of Nephrology (S.I.NEPH) is organizing the 16th AFRAN / AFPNA congress and its 5th national congress from December 8 to 10, 2021 in Abidjan.
The S.I.NEPH is a young association created in 2008, which aims to promote nephrology in Côte d'Ivoire through training and research. It has 35 nephrologists and around 20 nephrologists in training.
AFRAN / AFPNA congresses are organized every 2 years in different African countries. The last congress was held in Mombasa, Kenya in 2019. These scientific meetings bring together in the same place several nephrologists and health professionals from Africa, to update their knowledge on various aspects of kidney disease in order to '' improve the quality of care for patients with renal failure.
The main theme of the congress this year is “Advocacy for the management of kidney disease in Africa” and several sub-themes will be discussed. On the sidelines of the congress, there will be training for general practitioners and a pre-conference on renal pathology, pediatric nephrology, clinical research, training for nurses, etc. The full program can be viewed on the congress website.

sinephweb.org was created to collect all information and actions related to nephrology on Ivorian territory. Through the registry of chronic renal failure patients, this site is intended to be a decision-making support tool for the authorities in charge of health. It is also an information and prevention tool for the population. Finally, it is a continuing education and research tool for nephrologists.
Impacted by the organization of the world congress of nephrology in Cape Town in 2015, the African Association of Nephrology AFRAN, has matured and the congress organized jointly with AFPNA in 2017 in Yaoundé gave birth to another face of AFRAN congress with the support of international nephrological societies and the organization of the KDIGO meeting on HIVAN.
